Default Setting ignition timing *simple question*

This is for my D16Y8. If you're setting the ignition timing but forget to jump the service connector, does the ECU automatically reset the timing to stock no matter what the position of the distributor is? Thx.

Well, I advanced my timing but didn't jump the service connector. (Didn't realize you had to until I looked in the Helms.) Now, a few days later, the distributor looks like the timing would be advanced, by that's not what the little marks say when you do the timing gun. So I'm just trying to get some confirmation and make sure nothing else is wrong.

Bueller? Bueller? Just need to make sure it's the ECU doing this and not because of some mechanical failure within the engine. I could just redo the timing with the service connector jumped, but I'd still like some reassurance. I thought I read on here or somewhere else that if it's not jumped, the ECU will reset the timing. Can't find it again, though.
