Default Knock Sensor...Tried rewiring and changing knock sensor so far...Help Please

I have a 96 civic hatch with a built OBD 2 b18c1 motor running off a P73 ecu. The code im getting right now is 23, which is the knock sensor. The cel doesn't come on right away, it comes on after i put a load on it. So I tried changing the knock sensor(...its on tight) and resetting the ECU by pulling radio backup fuse. CEL is gone. So i gave it a test run, and whadda ya know...It comes on again. So then i tried changing the knock sensor wire with insulated wires soldered well together and resetted the ECU again. Again, i went for a test spin and whadda ya know...it comes on again...SO WTF IS GOING ON? I'm about to try another ECU, but before I buy another one I wanted to see what you guys think... Any info would be nice...unless my motor really is knocking(I don't hear anything), it wouldn't be so nice... without vtec life isn't worth living...

1 year old gas for your civic engine probably isnt too great for a b18c....

This what I did so far... changed the gas to octane 93... and redid timing belt at TDC... resetted ECU... I cranked the car and let it run until radiator fan came on... then i reved it up to like 3400 rpm and the CEL came on again... F*ck... I guess ill buy another ecu...

Do you have a friend that you could swap ECU's with? Just to plug his in to see? It might confirm your assumption...

I'm going to bring my ECU to someone else to test it on their car and see how it goes... would that be just as fine as having them letting me borrow theirs to test on my car? I don't want to risk driving my car over there with the CEL on. I'll have to travel out of town to get it tested... no one in town drives a GS-R... I live in the middle of no where...

Might want to try splicing a ground into the KS wire. Got rid of my CEL.

I heard grounding it out isn't safe... my motor is a built motor should i risk it by grounding it?

you need to use oem knock sensor wiring (like coax) needs to be grounded on both the ecu and ks side, i did it like this and no cel, good luck, i was selling some but ran out

are you sure that you read the code right? like you said p28 doesn't have knock sensor. as for routing the knock sensor wire. it needed to be away from anything that will cause electrical noises, like alternator, starter...

Please be aware that OEM Honda only grounds the KS shield in ONE spot. The way you have it hooked it up could potentially lead to ground loops and noise.

On a 99 Ex/Si, the KS shield is grounded to G101.

Well got another ECU today and gave it a test. Knock sensor code is still there. What else is there to fix the problem?

I can rev up to 8000 easily now. thats the only thing i noticed different.
