P.S. When I do a search of archived topics on the ITR forum with "top speed" in the title, I get 24 different hits. However, I'm sure none of them answer the question posed here.

actually, it's a drag limitation. the usdm 5th will theoretically hit upwards of 150+. the recorded top speed is 143 mph via car & driver and road & track.

Not true. You can bounce the rev-limiter in 5th gear in a stock Type-R.

hmm... not saying that i doubt you, but maybe you (or someone you know) were with a tail wind or doing down hill? that will definitely help out.
