K i have a 89 crx si wit a b16a and pr3...when the car is in vtec it will sometimes start hesitating at around 6k rpm and ocasionally redline at 7.Then sometiumes the check engine light will come on after some hard driving...i checked the ecu and it read code 23 which according to my friends book is knock sensor...this book says that if u keep the car at 3-4k rpm for 20 sec and the light comes on then the knock sensor is bad but mine checked out ok.i checked the plugs,wires,and connections to most of the sensors and it is still doing it...any help would be greatly appreciated.

get a new sensor if you can

 

the knock sensor??if ya wheres the best place to get a cheap one...honda is prob$$$$$

 

its supposed to redline at 7 when its the engine is cold... but if the ecu is sending a code 23 then i would change the sensor, thats about the only thing you can do if you checked everything else.

 

ya but its redlining at 7 after the enigine is well past cold...its just really daunting cuz theres so much stuff it could be....gonna go to kragen this weekend at rent a timing light so i can see cuz it might just be a timing prob....
