I have an 88 CRX w/ a JDM B16 swap. It's throwing code 23, which I know is the knock sensor. The light doesn't always come on, but the ecu is still flashing the code. Vtec still engages, which I thought wasn't supposed to happen with a code 23. What should I check? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

edit: I'm running a PR3, if it makes a difference.

if you have obd1 you can have the knock sensor and still get vtec,try searching on how to fix your knock sensor or just by a new one.

 

I did a search...nothing real helpful. I tried resetting the ecu...no luck. If the car is obd0 can I run without the knock sensor?

 

check your wiring to see if you wired it in the right spot
