Car ran fine, however after getting the A/C recharge at some shop, my car would shut off here and there and this only happens when I press the gas to a certain RPM then when I let go of the throtle, the RPM drops, car starts to bog and turns off.
The shop did not do anything but add r12 freon, what really confuses me is that the car runs strong and good when the A/C is off? what could cause this? new coil?
No CEL, already changed the battery but it still happens once in a while.
BTW car is a 89 civic DX sedan

to me it sounds like an idle problem. your engine is'nt keeping the idle up high enough for the A/C's load and thus stalls out. i'd increcse your idle ajust ment and see if that helps. i had the same problem when i changed over to R13 and with out A/C, my idle is like 950 or somthing and berley 700 with A/C on.

Your the second guy I heard this from, kool i will do that too, but Im not familiar with this d15b2 motor at all, is there a screw on the trotle body just like the B-series where you can adjust your idle? or how do you adjust the idle on this motor?

a pic would help. first does it have 2 injecotrs (DPFI) or 4 (MPFI)? I know nothing about MPFI but if it's DPFI there should be a little screw toward the top left looking at the front of it. it i thinks it's painted yellow or has a yellow cap on it. not sure.
