BLOWING FUSES
I have blown about 4 or 5 fuses now and I want to know why everytime that i turn the Vol. on my HU my amp fuse blows...
I have a CHEAP 1600Watt 2CH Pyramid AMP
bridged to two 12'' subs... can it be because I have two subs bridged together? everyone I know says thats not it but they dont know what the problem is.
I have a cheap old 40X4 Panasonic HU
(that amp volume is only half way up)
Thank You For Your Help

what fuse is blowing out ? my friend used the small cheap glass fuses for the battery to amp, and whenever he would crack it up fast it would burn the fuse. he just had to turn it up slowly.
Its not the fuse that is one the power wire it is a fuse that plugs into the amp it self ... it is a little plastic yellow thing with the number 20 on the back.
(the amp's book says to use an 20 fuse when replacing it)

double
Two things I would check.
1- is the amp stable at 2 OEMs when bridged? if you have two 4 oem speakers wired in parallel wired to a bridged amp that is not stable, it will get very hot and blow fuses
2- have the speakers been damaged, [voice coils] and are the shorting out at there xmax?

ohm load, ground, or (because it's a pyramid) the amp could just be not good anymore. i've run into customers who's had the same thing. they come in with a pyramid or pyle amp and ground the amp by accident or something like that then it's **** after that.
RMS Power @ 4 Ohms 75Watts X2 |

RMS Power @ 2 Ohms 120Watts X2 |

Maximun Power Output 800Watts X2 |

Stereo Mode 2-4 Ohm |

Bridged Mode 4-8 Ohm |

^^Cant Handle two 4ohm subs hooked up bridged at the same time?(i dont know what wired in parallel means)
The Subs Are Brand New So I Dont Think They Are Damaged

hope this helps.94

Agreed with that!
Just run the subs in stereo = Cooler cheap amp.

CF04</TD></TR></TABLE> Each speaker has a pos. and a neg. term., run a wire from the pos. of one speaker to the neg. of the other speaker, that will leave you with one pos. and one neg., run them to your amp, bridge amp, it will "see" an 8OHM load,
output of amp will be about 75 watts, kind of low for two 12s, but worth a try.
hope this helps.
