Ok I'm installing a GSR strut bar on my GS. Now before you start bitching and saying search...I did...and found that its a 12mm bolt that I need....well I went and got that $10 bucks down the *******..cuz they don't fit. Now my guess an 8mm bolt would fit...but does anyone know if a 9mm bolt will fit too? Since I drilled thru the holes in order to make the bolts fit....only to find out they don't fit on the actual bar itself. So I need something that has a thick head but will still fit into OEM holes. So will 9mm or 10mm work?

 

sounds like you lack common sense. So you drilled bigger holes into your car to put a $30 dollar bar on.

stop guessing what will fit and pull out a ruler. you can answer the question yourself. go the the hardware store with the bar and use trail and error to find what will fit.

 

who said anyhting about guessing? Excuse me for expecting a "tech" board to give the correct size of bolt i need for a project. If I wanted to measure everything myself I wouldn't be on this.

P.S. I did search like I said before, and majority of results showed up as 14mm and 12mm...now 14mm felt kinda big so I went wiht 12mm which was still too big. I drilled because thats waht people in other threads did. Like I said excuse me for expectinga tech board to know wtf they are talking about

welcome to honda-tech, and this is a tech board, but just because somebody says it's a good idea to polish your car with 100 grit sandpaper, doesn't means its true.

use your intuition.

and i still say for your situation, go to the hardware store with your bar to find something that will fit. Pick up some washers to fix the extra large holes you made.
