Hey guys, at the moment i have a 2001 Mazda MP3, im seriously considering selling it and buying a friend's 2000 GSR. For those of you with gsr's, how much do you like your car? Is there something else you woudl buy if u did it all over again? Just some general opinions would be greatly appreciated.

BTW: It's a 2000 GSR fbp with black leather, 5 speed, and chrome blades, 100% bone stock with 60,000 miles.

Gsr's are is great in a lot of aspects. If I had to do it all over again would I still have bought mine? Nope, the oodles of money spent on mods still didn't make it very fast or handle extremely well. I drove car's that were faster/cheaper and handled better stock than all the $ invested in it. I don't know.. I just think gsr's are rediculously overpriced for the most part. Also worrying about theft wasn't worth it to me. If you get a good deal on it, enjoy it stock and have a safe place to keep it then go for it. That's just my $.02. I'm sure many will disagree.

true, but putting an engine up to 8000rpm with no worries is a rush like no other. not even torque is more fun (to me).

the B18C1 in the GSR is a very good engine with lots of potential. It has even more turbocharged. With about 7psi, you're at about 250-270 crank HP...hell, most other I4's with 7psi put out less than 200...just says how good the motor is.

I had mine for 5 years and now have a S2000. It was a great car.

I can definately understand the handling part, the gsr will NEVER handle near as well as my mp3. But running 16.5-16.8 all day long is getting on my nerves, i went from a high 13 second z28 to a mid 16 second 4 door, not the best move ever. The gsr will be garaged and i live in a nice part of town and next door to a okc police officer lol. First thing done to the gsr will be a compustar alarm and fuel cut.

If I had to do it all over again. I'd do the same exact thing.

Turbo + GSR = tons of fun. Spend your money wisely on suspension mods and it can handle like its on rails.

I think its a good decision on your part if you search the market and learn a lot about the car before you begin to modify it.

Depends what your plans are with it. Definately not a bad choice at all. Acura's in general hold their value very well. If I were to do it over again, I'd try to get an ITR, mainly because I like auto-x better than the drag strip. Depending on how much your friend's asking for his car, I'd look into getting a 97-98 ITR's as well. Either way, definately better than the MP3

Save your money and get a RWD car. Don't make the same mistake i did with the GSR.

i have a rwd for a toy, 1991 Camaro Z28, the gsr will be the daily driver cruiser car

Can't beat a GSR as a daily driver. Great mileage, looks good, and it handles well. It also has some speed to it when you need.

I love my GSR...its a 94 with a strong stock motor that still pulls hard all the way to redline (and a little beyond)...add Type R struts and shocks and you have a great handling teg with a comfortable ride...

i still like my gsr but i would like there to be more torque in it, but i know that's impossible w/ only 1.8 liters. i've just stopped dumping money in it to try and make it a little faster....i rather save my money for something faster, like the g35 coupe.

I love my gsr too. But if I was to do it agian I would have gotten an EVO and probably still will.

I love my GSR, but the interior still has a Civic feel that constantly gets on my nerves. It feels too open, the shifter placement and center console don't appeal to me that much. If I could do it all over again, I'd probably buy a Prelude just for the cockpit-like interior and console, or buy an older MR2 Turbo.

GSR's are great cars, but always being targetted for theft sucks.

I have my supercharged R for fun and a 99 GSR for daily driver

I love it,, its somewhat fast, pretty good handeling, very confortable and you wont ever have a problem with it.. sooo reliable

yeah, i had an older prelude and absolutely love the shifter placement....it is high and right close to you unlike the Integras, in which the shifter is really low just like in the Civics. i still love my gsr though, it's a great car and fun to drive.

I currently have a 95 GSR and I love it. I'm sure I'd love a newer one even more. If anything ever happend to my car I'd think I'd invest in another GSR.

With a turbocharger, the gsr really shines!

ive wasted to much time, money, effort and energy to get it to its current condition and its still soaking up money like a sponge.

but now, i have soo much invested i dont even know how to get rid of it. part it out? pull the motor and sell it seperatly? tyr and sell it as is? either way, im gonna get screwed over.

the best part about it is that i do drive one of the most impressive GSR's around, so it always gets alot of looks and alot of compliments.
