Clutch pedal clicks as I put it in...teach me to fix this please. I want to learn
First, thank you for wanting to help me. I am grateful.
I have a 1998 Accord with 77K miles.
I have searched this forum regarding my issue, but with no luck. I hope someone can give me some luck and educate me.
When I press on the clutch pedal it clicks. It clicks as I push down, and sometimes as I let go of the clutch. It happens when the car is on or off. The clicking occurs any time of day. I live in Southern California, so the weather is a little warm now. Aside from the clicking, the clutch is working fine. I have never changed the clutch fluid. Actually, I just noticed this. I have changed, however, all my car fluids.
I will change my clutch fluid this weekend. Will this resolve the problem or will I have to do anything else while I am under the car? With my 4-runner I bleed the clutch via slave clutch cylinder. Is it the same with the Accord.
Thank you for your time. I appreciate you teaching me.

How far down do you have to push the pedal it to hear this click sound? A simple answer could be that you are hearing the switch to disengage cruise control, but yo only have to tap the pedal to hear that.
I have to push it pretty far in. If I tap the clutch, no clicking. It occurs as I change gear. The clutch is about to the floor. It never use to do it. Just started two weeks ago...thank you.
Well, since you said it happened when the car is on or off, sound like its could be a damaged clutch cylinder or maybe just look around the clutch pedal assembly for anything odd. Good luck.
I think you are correct. I took it for a drive and noticed that it is clicking on the on set. It occurs as I start to push on the clutch. Is there anything I can do to resolve this? It is very annoying.
thanks
thanks

That's a common problem. Honda tried useing some cheap plastic clutch master cylinders in 98 and 99. The only repair I know is to replace it.
