Default To take out the cat, or not to take out the cat, that is the question.

Ok what do you think. Is it worth it, i live in wisconsin, we do have emissions inspections every 2 years whare we have to take the car in and they test it. But it isn't really that big of a problem as far as tickets go... so i am not worried. The most i have seen is a 7 day notice to get it fixed or pay a $70 fine for a loud or modified exhaust.

So I guess my question to you is would i notice a gain if i took the cat out and went straight pipe. How much of a gain? I currentley have a aftermarket exhaust but have the stock headers.

Leave it in, or get a high flow. Ryan

here ya go, try this. if any of yer buddies knows how to weld, get yourself 2 exhaust flanges and cut a piece of exhaust pipe the length of the cat. weld the two flanges to each end of the pipe and viola! you have a test pipe that will replace the cat so you can swap the cat in and out in 5 minutes. if you dont know somebody who welds then just take the parts to an exhaust shop and theyll do it for pretty cheap. if they ask why you want it just tell em its for road racing events. and if you dont feel like doing all that then just get a high flow cat.
