94 civic EX tranny swap (98 tranny) now linkage feels off? 5th gear almost impossible

Default 94 civic EX tranny swap (98 tranny) now linkage feels off? 5th gear almost impossible

Did a tranny swap in a 94 civic with a 98 tranny and now the linkage feels like its wrong do i need to use the 98 linkage? some hlp plz

Are all the bolts tightened? Did you put back the "bitch pin"? If so, what is the condition of your shifter bushings?

all bolts tight, yes the... "bitch pin" is back in and the clip around it shifter bushings look ok. Its as if the linkage leaves the shifter too far "forward" ie when its in nuetral the shifter looks and is angled like it should be in first gear.

so im assuming that there is no difference inbetween the 93 to 98 linkages?

I ampretty confident you would need the linkage to match your chassis code, so I don't think you would need to swap it out.

sounds like you installed the shifter backwards, I've done it before, it's easy to fix
