well first off if you ride in vtec range not close to 7k but inbetween 5500-6500 can it make it throw a code?.......THis has happened before and i got it checked and it was vtec system malfunction and i reset my ecu havent had a problem since untill now. But now after the check eng. light came on if you go up to 6k the car sputters and about stalls out. What does this mean? what can i do to fix it?

Go to an AutoZone and get your ecu scanned and see what code it's throwin'.

They do it for free.

 

i did....it came up to fuel/air metering and the code i forgot what it was p1259 somethin like that and it was VTEC SYSTEM MALFUNCTION so i know what it is but why do i keep getting this problem and why is it acting up at 6000 rpms?

 

do you have oil in the car? is it the proper level??

 

Indeed. The VTEC system doesn't work if you don't have enough oil in your crankcase.

 

yep oil was changed and filled with i think 4 quarts 4 days ago

 

check it cuz its supposed to be more than 4. Low oil will affect vtec.

 

even if it is supposed to be more then 4 it isnt by alot and we just put it in there and i know it isnt burning that much oil and there are no oil leaks already got that checked.
