Default picture request: amp settings

i've been playing around with my amp settings for my sub and i can't get it to give me that clean hard hitting bass sound. this may seem weird, but can someone post a picture of your amp settings? i know it all depends on your set up, but i just want an idea. btw, i'm running a jl 12w6 with 1200 watt amp

1. turn the radio volume 75% up.
2. turn the amp gain up untill you hear distortion
3. back down a little bit until right before the distortion
4. set the frequency at 63 hz
5. adjust until the bass sounds right.

*to hardcore audiophiles*: yes, yes, i know that isn't the perfect way to tune an amp...but that should help him get around the right range he wants.

it really depends on how your system is setup and what your equipment is. i use my alpine head unit to adjust the sound to my interiors, so i set the eq on the deck first...then i adjusted my amp. what's your setup?

You can also check with a local audio shop and see what they can do on a "baseline" adjustment or even on an in-depth adjustment with an RTA meter.
