Default Anyone build Non-Vtecs?

Does anyone try to be different and build non-vtecs? Im just curious as to how far you can go with a non-vtec!

we still do alot of non-vtec setups for customers. D and B series. Theres plenty you can do from the bottom end to head work and cams. The Non-vtec motors have been forgotten but they still are a good choice for building up a motor.

My friend is buidling up his A20A3(think thats the code). Not all motor, but hes building it up.

You can get the same range that most people get with their vtec engines.

Its just the 5-10% that do full aggresive builds that go above and beyond what a non-vtec is capable of.

You can get a lot of power out of a non-vtec motor, however you do lose daily driveability if you go for max power. you only have the single lobe on the cams to control the valves, and so you lose the idle quality you could get with a similarly built vtec motor. My ls runs 133.8 hp at the wheels and 124 or 128 tq on stock cams...
