best struts?
Bilstein SPORT has my vote. Extremely firm and is a great match with H&R RACE springs or something as stiff or stiffer. Excellent street/track setup. And JIC is not that good. Don't buy them. There is a post somewhere on here about them and being tested on a shock dyno. I'll try to find it.

Okay well Bilstein Sport = best OTS non-adjustable shock, and Koni Sport = best OTS adjustable shock. The two probably shouldn't be directly compared as they're different animals.

well the best choice of strut/shock would have to be based on your wallet. koni's are the best but also the most money out of all of them.
i got illumina's, and for 369 shipped, and there adjustable too, as you probably know. and i dont see any difference from koni's.. the only thing i think koni's are good for is the adjustable ?pertch? so you can get that perfect drop.
also what kind of springs are you going to be using, so we could help you pair you up with a good set of shock/strut's

Welp Koni or Bilstein are pretty much your only choices there (depending if you want to be able to adjust damping or not). Pretty much any other shock is going to blow fairly quickly with a 3" drop and the spring rates required to keep the car off the bumpstops with a 3" drop.

i have tokiko blues on neuspeed race springs the maximum drop they allow. they are good for daily driving, they arent stiff. they are very similar to stock. if you want a drop and a comfortable ride for driving daily like me through ny/nj then these are excellant shocks.
btw my drop is about 2 1/4 on a db8.

You must mean adjustable coilovers. Terminology is key. A suspension uses both springs and dampers. Shocks and struts are different types of dampers. Integras and Civics use shocks on all 4 corners, not struts. The suspension is a coilover-type suspension, with the coil spring over the damper. There are full (some like to call it "real") adjustable coilovers, which include a damper w/ a threaded body. Then there are adjustable coilover sleeves, which fit over a damper body.
So what are you asking about again?

So where did you find that Neuspeed Race springs is the maximum drop Tokico allows on their HP shocks? I wasn't aware that they specified any "maximum" drop. Their valving is very similar to stock, and they WILL be toast in 1-2 years with a low, stiff spring like Neuspeed Race, and I bet you Tokico won't honor the warranty if they know that such a spring was used on them.
My friend used to have Neuspeed Race and Tokico HP's and the ride was absolutely horrible, and they did indeed blow out after about a year. After that he saw the light and got Koni Sports.

i was saying that neuspeeds maximum drop is the race spring. the farthest possible drop you cant get with neuspeed is the race spring drop.
ive had them for over 2 years and theyre working great.
