Default STR cam gear problem?

I just got some STR cam gears for my b18c5 powered CRX mrk2 & when torquing up the last locking bolt (to 10lb's ft) its stripped the threads

STR's website & the sticker on the cam gear says torque to 10-12lb's/ft so it got me thinking has anyone else has the same problem before?

I've emailed STR from their website a few days ago now but havn't heard anything back yet

i've had mine for over a year now, and haven't had any problems at all. I've done many adjustments on them as well. Probably calling STR would be the best bet.

Is it the old design or brand new? They've had problems with the old ones, but the new ones should be good to go.

we only use JG cam gears or skunk2 cam gears, I have seen many other brand cam gears have the same problem with cam gears, we never get this problem with JG or skunk2

I had the new design on my motor for 40miles then all of the bolts on the exhaust cam came loose, had to tow the car to the shop that built my motor. 3 miles later, after both of the cam gears were tighten and torque down to specs, all of the bolts on my intake gear came off causing it to advance like 15 degrees!!! All of this happen when i was breaking in the motor, lucky nothing else was broken. Now i'm running skunk2 .

The cam gears I have look just like the ones on the STR website so I guess thats the new ones?

I'm over in the UK so its a PITA to get tuning parts at ok prices

I took the other gear off my motor just incase, gona see what STR say in there next email then I'll have to make my mind up what to do as I have Jun3's if they slip to max adjustment its not gona be pretty

Thanks for the replys btw I think this is my longest post ever on HT
