HID Ballasts are hitting my ABS system
I have a 1997 Integra GS and while installing the HID headlights for my itr conversion but I ran in to this problem where my right headlight ballast for the HID is hitting my ABS system. Does anyone know a good solution to this problem?
be nice... you havn't been around long enough to tell people to search yet.
I have mounted mine to the abs on my car.. i don't have a conversion.. what problem are you encountering.
pixors always work well for most of us here on the board to give us a better idea on what you are talking about.

When we try to slide the right headlight on the car, the back of the ballast touches the ABS unit preventing me from sliding the headlight all the way back in the correct position to line up the holes for the screws. Anyone have this problems and have a solution?

Ask the Integra forum. ITRs (and newer model year integras) do not share that huge *** ABS setup and thus most here that have done the bodykit haven't had to deal with that issue.

There are several options you can go with: 1)Remove your current ABS unit and replace with a 98+, 2)Remove it and forget about ABS, 3)Unbolt the ABS, push it back, drill new holes, and bolt it down again. Most likely you want to do option 3, which I want to do as well! Here's a pic I found of how it was done:
I have yet to attempt it because of the lack of time I have nowadays, but I know a shop that knows how to do it and has done it before. Since your in SD try contacting Inline 4 in Westminster, which is a small drive for you. I most likely will try to have them do it later when I get the time! Also if you are gonna take it there, you might wanna schedule an appointment with them because they told me they're pretty booked up with conversions! I guess!
Anyways here's a link to the same question, which I posted, but keep in mind that there are many more threads of this same topic out there! Hope I was of some help! Good Luck Bro!

I just took my ABS completely out so my HID's would fit, also makes for a cleaner engine bay. I can't tell any difference without it. My brakes haven't locked up yet when slaming the brakes. If your brakes do lock, and you slam into the back of the car ahead of you, guess what.......your following too close (your fault). Drive safe!
that is great help...i think option 3 is the best and cheapest way to go for now...buying a new abs system was not in my plans...so that can wait...i'll post pics of my car when done...thank you to all those that tried to help...
Just run a different Ballast.
I have the Philips on mine, plugs into the factory bulb, works no problems, only thing... you need to make some kind of cover to cover over the larger Hole where the Larger OEM ballast covers.
