driving downt the road stoped at a light now car wont go into first gear at all wtf is going on

1st gear is for suckers. start from second gear.

 

try to put it into first with out the clutch (do not force just tap it ) if it grinds it is the sinkroll,if notthing happens then that means your sink is good so then try this, put it into a diffrent gear if it does not go into any gear then i would have to say it is you clutch so buy a new one. let me know what happens.

 

how fast were u going down the road?? and did you downshift from 4th or 5th to 2nd and then try to go to first??

You're the one that posted about not making a "Type R" because it had a sticker on it. Please end yourself for saying what you said on this thread. Good day.

Now, for the issue on hand, we need more information. Did you force it into any gear without pressing the clutch or did you hear a grind? Can you place it on 1st gear (position)?

 

are you sure you are putting it in 1st and not reverse???

 

start from 5th gear

what the **** is a sinkroll? synchro? as in synchronizer?

its a new clutch it only has like 200 miles on it i just got one after winter im not buyin any more crap for that 1.5 ******* cuz my b16 is commin soon but i wanna sell the motor thats in my car to pay my dad back some i waz going over a bridge and i came to a light i didnt down shift cuz my gurl waz in the car n she hates the exhast the light changed yeah no first gear it feels like the gear block is on like the block hat doesnt allow u to shift back into first after ur moving let me know im clueless on this

 

yeah, it seems that once you gfet over 10 mph it wont let you **** into first

 

First: Ditch your "gurl" if she can't handle a downshift.

Second: If I understand you correctly you tried putting it into 1st while rolling? Many people say it won't let you if you are rolling more than 10mph, mine won't let you do it if you're moving at all. Don't force it in, just slow as much as possible and ease it into 1st.

bwahaha...i had to read it like 20 times before i realized what he was trying to say.

 

got pissed and tokk my linkage off and put it back on still had the smae problem then i jiggeled the shift around when trying to put it in first now it magically works thanx tho when it wouldent go into first i waz totaly stopped and i turned the car off and then back on still wouldent go in i thin k suttin waz stuck in the linkage or suttin who knows all i care about is it fixed

 

Well we had a flood down here a few months ago and I definitely submerged the linkage under (pretty much doorline submerge). The next morning the linkage was stuck and coudn't get into any gear. After moving it a bit and rolling backwards, it came loose. I guessed the bushings seized.

 

do you happen to have a short shifter...i read somewhere on here that some shortshifters (if it cost less than 30 dollars...) dont line up 100% or cause excessive wear...
