ok, today i was leaving work and my car wouldn't start. I gave it a min. and it started right up but would idle at 100 rpms, almost staling. i thought it was my IACV so i cleaned it out, and now it doesn't even turn over.

it is...
1. trying to turn over
2. not a fuel problem ( i can smell fuel after i try to start car)
3. can't check my spark plugs because my spark plug socket is to fat to fit in the spark plug holes.

i have a 93 si hatch with stock D16z6 w/178,xxx miles no mods,

my questions is .. would a bad IACV cause my car not to turn over? TIA

I have a bad IACV, i idle higher than usual, i dont see that being a problem.

 

fuel relay did that to me...it will idle really low and almost die. there is a wire to the left of where the fuses are. its kinda thick and covered with some kind of wrap. tug on it a couple times and see if your car starts...i have to do it almost daily

 

^^ ok i'll try that tomorrow .. its weird tho it worked all day then all of a sudden it took a dump

turns out it was my dizzy.. i picked up a spare one from a friend (photec3) and swapped the ignition coil and bingo. that was the problem
