alright guys im having some problems with my turbo, and i have no idea what it is.

b18b1, 1993 civic dx.

alright heres the symptons, the turbo winds up and it'll pull hard, then stop. unless i let off the gas and hit it once again. every now and then, it sounds like pressure is escaping somehow. the BOV also goes off if i release the gas pedal the slightest bit.

i dont have a missing link just yet, just check valves. and the check engine light comes on frequently.

im assuming that the fuel pump cant handle it? and then the engine bogs when the CEl comes on.

I think you need some proper tunning. When my ride wasn't tuned properly, I had similiar symptoms where @ WOT it will pull hard till about 5000 rpm then fall flat on its face. I would let off a little then get back on it in order for the power to return. I was running mad rich on the top end.

 

yeah whats what im assuming, what did you end up doing to tune it?

as for the CEL, do i have to check the code bein thrown off while the CEL is still on? as soon as the car is turned off, the CEL turns off.

 

anyone?
