how hard is it, and are there kits for it, anything special i need to do?

Its very simple, the hardest part is unbolting all the auto stuff. Search theres alot of good info in the archives.

I did mine early this year to my civic. You need 5 speed pedals, master and slave cylinder, clutch lines,flywheel,clutch,5 speed starter,shift linkage with shifter,throttle cable(autos are different)or just take the auto one apart and put it with the brake and clutch pedals from the 5 speed(for civic_tuner), 5 speed computer,tranny of course, lower front tranny mount,customize the tranny mount(top,need to lower 1.5 inches)or buy an auto-manual one,and some rewiring. good luck.
