Default Bass hum from subwoofers

Hey guys...

I've got a problem with my bass humming when the cd player in my car is on and the volume is turned down....seems to happen quite a bit, BUT NOT ALL THE TIME......even when i turn the corner or hit a bump the bass somtimes seems to get louder.....Sometimes when i try to fade the Equalizer to the front the bass hum is still there and other times it's not....i'VE REPLACED GROUND WIRES TO AMP.

Here's my setup ....Panasonic 8400u cd player, Audio Control 4.1 eq, Soundstream reference 705s amp for the subwoofers, and a clarion 4 channel amp (which i don't really need), and FOUR 12 inch JL W6 subwoofers.....Complete with a 1 Farad Sun tech capacitor with dual Optima yellow top batteries regulated by an orion multiple battery regulator.

Can anybody tell me where to begin.....Loose capacitor ground?.....Loose speaker wires in custom enclosure?

Thanks in advance everyone....

D

could be interference on the RCAs. are they run anywhere near any kind of power sources? if they are, move em. all else fails, go to wal mart (sounds cheesy but worked for me) and get a ground lop isolator for like $12.

I think i may have found the problem. When i wiggle the RCA wires where they plug into the amp i can eliminate the bass hum or i can make it louder. DOES this mean that i should replace the RCA wires? Anybody know if this is the proper solution or is it the rca slots on the amp?
Thanks

Does it hum more when you simply move the wire or when you move it close to the connection at the amp? What if you wiggle the connector but not the wire? That could mean a problem inside the amp where the connector gets soldered to the board. What about the wire and not the connector?

If you have nice RCA cables, you can unscrew the ends of the patch cords and check the solder connections on the pin and ground shield. Make sure they look good when you flex the cable near the connector.

could be some type of feedback from the lines.. just replace the rca's with new ones, or get some needle-nose and try to squish the gold/silver ring around the rca a little bit, so it fits a little bit more snug, and see if that works, if not, just replace them
