Default cd player subwoofer problems

Ok, I think I have decided my HU is shot... my sub rca outputs went out a while ago and now I think my others have too... My subs are not hitting right with the music at all... They hit at volume 1 so hard you cnat hear the music and at volume 10 they sound the same... I thought I had them hooked in wrong or maybe I had a ground loop in my amp setup... I just spent 4 hours overhauling everything in my car... Guess what, no change... Can anyone give me some help to what the problem is? I know its nto the subs! It could be the amp, but I doubt it... Maybe the rca cable, but doubt it... HU already lost rca outputs... One more thing... Speakers pop when changing radio stations now... Any clues? I have worked wiht car audio for about 3 years now pretty regularly... Never had a problem I couldnt fix.... This one has stumped me.... Pretty sure the HU is fucked... regular speakers are powered by the HU right now... They pop because of that.. Took amp/subs all out and speakers still popped... give me some help guys...

Lower the gains on the sub, and any bass boost. As far as the popping, you are probably pushing the HU's amp too hard.
