Radiator for an EG6 with a B18C5 Swap
I am at the end of installing my newly acquired B18C5 into my 92 Si.
When we were hooking the top radiator hose back up we notice the nipple (connector) was cracked.
In my mode of doing things right the first time, I would like to install a new (used) radiator. They way I see it I have 5 options, two I know will work, two I'm not so sure about, and one that will be 100% custom.
Option 1 - replace with a similar single core radiator
Option 2 - replace with a GSR double core radiator, as many have done before
Option 3 - replace with a Del Sol VTEC (double core) radiator which I am hearing is an easier install than the GSR.
Option 4 - replace with a radiator out of a 92-95 Automatic Civic, I have also heard that this is and easier install than the GSR. (same radiator as the Sol VTEC?)
Option 5 - custom race radiator by C&R, Fluidyne, etc.
Options 3&4 sound the most appealing on the surface. Does anyone have any experience with using either of these in a similar application?
Any and all input is greatly appreciated!

the gsr radiator isnt that hard to put in. and i think its better than the delsol radiator because there is more surface area for air to hit. u just need to get two metal peices from the hardware store to make the bottom brackets and use integra upper radiator brackets up top.
Yeah all you have to do to mount the new gsr radiator is make a custom mount on the bottom from your crossmember. there is a good article on hybrid Honda that will show you what you have to do to make the mounts.
I have the Civic Radiator in my ITR setup. I've asked around if this would handel the job of keeping this monster cool... No problem. If you're worried... Use a spoon or Mugen Radiator car (cost about 30 bucks from King Motor Sport) and a Mugen Thermostat (about 70 bucks from King...) These will keep her nice and cool. If anything else... It was a suggestion, but not really needed... But thats a better after market Radiator Fan. But these are just to get it cooler the Stock Radiator is plenty to handel the Job. Good Luck
he doesnt have cooling problems. he just need a new radiator.
I run the GS-R radiator in my EG6 w/B18C5 swap. The Del Sol VTEC radiator colls well too, because it's double-thick.
I guess it doesn't matter, but the GS-R radiator just looks bad-*** to me because it's so wide.

Use the GSR rad, it's easier to come by and can be bought for $150 brand new (OE replacement).. The bottom two mounts need to be dremeled/hacksawed off and repositioned.. This is an easy task.. As for the upper mounts, u can use the stock civic one on the right side and nothing on the left (supported by hoses) or u can fabricate your own **** for both sides using sheet metal.. Good luck!

I bought a used 1998 GSR radiator for my EG from Larry Jr. at importautosalvage.com and he sent it to me for $75 shipped!

Regardless, you will need to buy a radiator and you will get the best deal at http://www.radiator.com if you use this coupon# AC116 for $20.00 off.
Yes, the auto radiator is a dual core. But you will (should) have to plug up the trans cooler lines.
I recommend getting the GS-R radiator if you don't have a/c. If you have a/c get either the Del Sol VTEC or auto radiator.
I used the single core on my B18C1 and overheated twice. The first time was at Willow Springs going on 30 minute runs with 95+ degree weather. The second time was driving up to Seattle from CA with 95 degree weather going 100 mph in 5th gear at 6000 RPM with the a/c on for like 10 minutes.
I upgraded to a Del Sol VTEC radiator and did 30 minute runs at SIR in 75 degree weather revving to 9000 RPM. No problems.
If you don't road race, you don't really need to upgrade the radiator. But for the same price (and since you need one), you might as well upgrade.
