Default Speakers popping when headunit is running.

Hi my headunit has recently developed this problem. When listening to the radio randomly my speakers will start making this loud intermittent loud popping sound and i have to turn my headunit off because im scared. Sometimes it does it sometimes not. Im running an amp too. Please help.

/need more info, what speakers ore popping? the ones off the amp? all the speakers? just when playinr radio, or cd/cass. also? 94

The ones popping are the ones off the amp (which are the only speakers in my car) It would run fine then randomly it starts the popping, one every second or so...

Is this when the car is running, or when you are driving, or will it happen evan if the engine is off.

Can you hook the speakers up to the HU ? If you can do a temp. hookup, you can determen if the problem is in the HU or amp., have you checked all the wireing of the HU and amp., take a close look at the grounds.

More info about when it happens will help. 94

sounds like something might be intermittently grounding out somewhere.
