Default Speakers stop working?

Any ideas why my speakers just stop working? It was rare but I just installed amp/subs and it's doing it more. Now that I have subs, when the speakers go out the subs are still playing the music.

My friend thinks it might be a messed up CD fuse.

94 prelude. Stock speakers. Pioneer aftermarket radio(don't know exact model atm). Amp and subs weren't in when I first had the issue, but they don't seem to be helping, that's for sure. Amp is a crunch 500w and two 10" orion woofers.

sounds like a speakers grounding out issue. could be a blown speaker or a loose connection behind the radio.

I have a video. It's bad but it'll show you what happens. You'll see that I turn up the volume a bit and the speakers stop but the subs keep going. I can't afford new speakers.

I guess I'll just keep the volume down from now on and see if they ever go out.

Near the end you hear the speakers stop.

As mentioned, it is a short, the HUs internal amp is going into protection mode, [turning off] because this happens when you turn up the volume I am guessing a burnt VC on one of the speakers, the sub keeps working because it uses a preamp signal from the HU, it is not effected by the protection mode.

Try this, using the Pioneers fader, fade all the way to the front or rear speakers and turn up the volume, if HU only cuts out on the front or rear, fade to that set of speakers and use the HUs balance control to to balance to the left or right, again the side that still cuts out the sound is the side with the problem, pull that speaker and unplug it, balance and fade to all speakers and turn up the volume, if sound no longer cuts out, replace the speaker.
If sound still cuts out check the speaker leads for that speaker all the way from the speaker to behind the HU. 94
