Default Smoke coming out of flex on the downpipe. Is it normal?

I recently installed my turbo kit and my new downpipe. Today, I noticed some grey smoke coming out of the flex section on the downpipe. The car has about 5 miles on it with the turbo installed. Is this normal? TIA

It might be burning off some residue. Does it only do it when the car/exhaust is warmed up?

Yes, my friend noticed it while he was behind me on the highway.

Drive it on the highway for about 30 minutes letting some heat get to the pipe. Like Muckman said you might just be birning off some residual stuff left from the manufacturing process.

It was a custom made dp from b18 flip, made of SS. Does that make any difference?

If this is a brand new downpipe made from mandrel bent SS, you are likely just burning off the grease used in the bending process.

New parts tend to smoke a bit. When I wrapped my downpipe and header in insulating wrap I think the stuff smoked and stank for a week.

But if there is a copious amount of smoke, you might have other problems. But I doubt that is the case.
