Default Alpine 9835, is it a good one to buy?

I have about 500$ to spend on a head unit, (tired of the stock one). I think the alpine 9835 would be a good one? What do you guys think? Suggest any other ones??

thanks,
JAson

That is a real nice HU. Just don't go overboard and buy the most one expensive just because you can, then not use half of it's features. I kinda did that when I bought mine, but then again I'm always looking to get the best reasonable thing out there.

You think the 9833 would be a better option for me?? On the 9835, you can change 512 different colors on screen right?

The 9833 has the 512 different colors of illumination too. The 9835 is worth the extra money with the black finish and the Biolite display alone. It is one of my favorite decks in years.

Nice deck, goobs of processing most people never use. Alpine is working on a sirius box and a cable to control an Ipod. hotness.
