Default Do these EGT's sound about right?....

Okay, I'm running about 8psi on a ZC with a Zdyne SECU and intercooler.

Durring 70mph cruise EGT is 1250
Durring 90mph cruise EGT is 1275

That's as high as it goes. I've tried leaning it out to the point of hessitation and I can't raise those temps. I think they are kind of low.

And for the record I have the temp probe mounted half the diameter of the exhaust port away from the port on the manifold just like the directions for the meter say.

I've never seen temps higher than 1275.

Is this normal and good?

I sincerely hope that those are in farenheit and not celcius. If that celcius, oh man ... you know what melted pistons look like?

if thats Farenheit then you are just where you want to be. Is that after the turbo or before? I assume after.
i run about 700-750C and mine is right at the runner off the 1st cylinder. My car is tuned a little rich just above stoichiometric.

U should be worried about egt's at wot, not cruising egt's (amateurs)

After?? Those numbers look like numbers at the manifold before the turbo. After the turbo the numbers drop about 300F about. That's like 1500F at the manifold, which is too much.

This is true. However, and EGT can help you a lot when you're having problems. Say your FMU or your fuel pump craps out. Your car might be crusing at 40mph and still be 1300F. Happened to me quite a bit when I was trying to iron out all the issues I've been having. If I hadn't had an EGT, I'd be done.

Should also have an A/F with that too.....but I'm broke.

You guys, 1500F is still a fine temp for WOT pre-turbo. I hold at a solid 800-810C at WOT + redline. EGT is load dependent (aka throttle, boost, rpm, gear). Make sure you guys are being at least somewhat scientific when spewing out these numbers... at least metion whether you are at full throttle, and what gear/rpm.

Also, 700-750C equates to 1292-1382F.

If you fuel pump or FMU stops working, you will not need to rely on EGT to alert you of your problems. The massive hesitation and detonation should be a clue.

To answer the initial question, your cruising EGTs are perfect (aka exactly what everyone else gets). The EGT gauge not going to be much use but at WOT/under load, so give us numbers for say full boost/WOT in 3rd gear at redline and we can tell you how you compare.
