Flex Pipe, where to get one for cheap?
I need a 1 foot flex pipe to weld in between downpipe. JC whitney wants $60 for it. I wonder if anyone knows where i can get it for cheaper.
hmm...maybe the stuff I am using is crap, but the flex pipe that I used for the wastegate dump tube I bought from Pep Boys for like $4. You should be able to find the size you need for around the same price. Maybe this is not good to use for downpipe/exhaust connection?
For you people who are mechanically inclined, here's a site that'll help you build your custom turbo kit and exhaust. They supply all kinds of flanges, gaskets, etc. Even mandrel bends, and those flex pipes you're talking about.
Road/Race Engineering
They specialize in DSMs, but I've bought the flanges and mandrel bends in bulk and helped build 2.5" and 3" turboback exhausts for my friends for under $300.
BTW, their 3" flexpipes are $25 a foot. 2.5" is $20/ft.

The flex pipe is the braided stainless steel looking thing. It's not the cheapo Ripple looking PEpboys stuff, haha.
Actually they're the same stuff (Haha) but the expensive stuff is the "cheapo ripply stuff" with a stainless braid OVER it to protect it. Looks a lot nicer, may leak a bit less, but hey, it's your $60.
