I just had a crazy idea
I just did a search and saw that this has been done before
Whenever I drive long distances I come up with these crazy ideas.
What if you took a standard tach with shift light, wired it up so everything worked and instead of using the shift light, cut the wire going to the light and run it to your vtec solenoid and you would have adjustable vtec by turning your shift light ****. It would send power to the vtec solenoid instead of the light bulb. It would take away the purpose of having a shift light but i think it would be cool. Its the poor mans MSD RPM activated switch, and more simple too.

i was wondering about something else: what about the fuel and timing maps that change when the ECU activates vtec. If you just have a 12v source activating it, does the ECU compensate for anything?
