Could this be used as a cheap yet effective oil cooler setup? (Ford tranny cooler)

It's a Ford racing heavy duty transmission oil cooler (full specs can be found in the link). I'm sure it's not the end all of oil coolers, but for a weekend warrior do you think it would be a nice addition to keep oil temps in check?

It says it features its own thermostat like bypass feature which could be good or bad. I don't know what the normal operating temp of the tranny should be, but if its around 180 degrees then I don't see a problem with it.

I figure I could buy this kit, spend some extra $ for some quality lines, and come out with a decent and very reasonably priced oil cooler setup.

Any opinions or input is more than welcome.

yeah...don't bother...you're not going to circulate enough oil through that to be of much benefit...and i would even venture a guess that you'd loose a lot of pressure.

I agree. Not designed to do the job. I tryed something similar once, then had to by a realil cooler.
