Riddle me this???
THIS IS NOT MY DOING!! SO NO HATING
is it possible to put a B16A *cough* AUTOMATIC in a 1997 civic EX?
I'm doing this swap for a friend and I never messed with an automatic (but it is his wife's car and she can not drive a stick......blah, blah, blah!!!)
my problem is that the mounts for the tranny on the B16 are completely different than the D16Y8. WTF....... I know the ends and outs on a manual B16A SiR/SiR II in an EK but not an automatic. has anyone performed this and if so can ya point me in the right direction. am I over my head by helping this guy out?
oh yeah I haven't been on here in awhile...what is up with not being able to search 3 letters???

i don't want to put the D series tranny on the B16 or vice versa. I'm talking about the mounts on the top passenger side and the rear mount lining up to the car body.
does a company make a bracket or something for the passenger side tranny mount?

As stated--there are automatic B16A's. They have lower horsepower (I think it's 155).
I'll bet you could find one, it'll just take some work.

A close friend of mine has an automatic b16, with mods and such. He's paralized from the waist down. Not a waste of time at all.

i second that. a guy that owns a shop down here put in a auto b16 in his girlfriend's 92-95 coupe and that thing isnt too much faster then the factory d16z. a month later he took it out and put a b20 in with the same tranny. now it feels much quicker then it did with the b16.
also the auto tranny is bigger then a manual tranny so he had to shave a little off the beam so the tranny will sit in nicely.
