Manual Trans
I have a 94 CX HB and I am having problems with it making a clicking noise when I accel and a slight chatter when sitting in idle ..... When I push in the clutch the chatter goes away .....
also i turn sharp left or right and there is no clicking .... what I think the problem is ..... I think it is the throw out bearing .....
what do you all think?
also if I need to replace the axles it states in the Haynes manual the trans takes 2 qt. of 5w-30 .... has anyone ever used synthetic in a manual trans?

Problem: Bad input shaft bearing

Actually it could be any of the bearings on the mainshaft. The input shaft bearing is the one that fails the most. You'll have to disassemble your transmission, and spin all of the bearings on the mainshaft (including the input shaft bearing) and listen for clicking...and replace the ones that click.
