Default Simple Answer to Kill switch and Relays

Ok, I've been browing through forums using the search feature and reading about a safe and reliable way to wire up a kill switch.

I don't want my car to die on me while I'm driving, and I don't want to be running lean either.

So heres what I concluded from all my research.

I found that using a switch rated at 25A would be VERY bulky and hard to conceal(do not know that for a fact, but seeing the size of it...).

So I assume that running a relay would solve that problem.

My question is...
1. Can I use a 3A rated switch to run the relay without any shortage problems. Seeing that 3A switches are very small its logical to think that its easier to conseal.

2. Im planning to install 2 kill switches, so is it possible to run two SEPERATE relays and having two seperate switches possible? Or should I just use one relay and have two switches( three even better).

Thanks

A relay only needs about 125Ma to 250Ma max to energize so evan a 1 amp switch will work.

More switchs and relays in differant places is better, as for relay diagram, get power for 85 from some other place then fuel pump fused 12 volt.

hope this helps . 94

What do you mean by getting power for 85 from other sources?

Like you mean ignition or something?

And how wil the diagram look like if I do.

The relay in diagram is a SPDT relay .

As for relay power, insted of switch getting power from fuel pump fused 12 volts, get it from ign.,or ign. output term. on fuse box.

hope this helps. 94
