fuel kill switch question ???
ive found the DIY and stuff so i have a pretty good idea on how to do it . but i read on another forum that if i use this switch ....
http://www.radioshack.com/prod...earch
and 18 gauge wire ,,that after time it could lead to failure becuz im cutting power to a 15A circuit. even tho the switch is rated to 25A it could still fail after time.
and that i could either find a lower current part of the circuit ( ???) or use a relay ,or find a switch with double the load rate.
has anyone ever had this problem ?????? i just dont want my car to not work cuz of this kill switch thing

Re: fuel kill switch question ??? (vargas)
You would be good on that set up. I have a 20amp switch in both of my sols and had no problems with them. One has been in it for 5yrs by the previous owner my other I put in 2yrs ago.

Re: (vargas)
you can always just use a relay and just use the switch on a ground.
same as a starter kill. a simple relay and just use the fuel pump +wire and the other to starter to the fuel pump. and run the ground for the alarm to the switch and the o ther output from the switch to any ground.
pretty easy just use your own wire/splice location and hidden switch location. now get creative if you want it to work to its best!!!!!
get some different screws or covers around the fuel pump or relay.
think like a crock! if you put the switch in a common spot or splice the wires in the same area just think about it a simple screw driver philips and flat screw drivers are theives common tools! get creative. allen screws, start screws, square screws.
but no matter what all you do if you truly want to protect your investment then make sure you have full coverage car insurance on your car! no theft prevention is fool proof! a tow truck/ car dolly/ or trailer and winch can steal any car!
good luck.

If you're not a complete idiot you wont set your car on fire.
Even the complete idiots manage to wire kill switches without burning their cars down.
I've never even heard of a kill switch starting a fire.

i think im going to do it with the relay ... so i have to cut the fuel pump wire and wire one end to the 87 pin on the relay and the other to the 30 pin . Then i have to conect the 86 pin to my rocker switch and the 85 ground ??? is this rite ?
