Default what could be wrong? wiring? or bad decks?

ok here we are from square one.. hopefully theres a guru or someone who had thr same problem

basically.. i boought my car, came with a jvc sx770 deck...
the deck played anything u threw at it... scratched to **** or retail

but i got an amp/subs...
deck still played fine.. sounded superb

i put in my new deck which i got (pioneer premier 460mp.. yeah cheap deck.. i just needed somethign to play mp3s that was half decent)

anyways.. im not technologically handicapped... i know electronics very well..wiring is no problem for me.. did it myself

had the new deck in it was great.. to my surprise it sucks at playing cds.. well it skipped like **** on alot of my mp3 cds.. which work great on my pc/xbox/dvd players/etc.. work well in other peoples mp3 decks tooo...
i also noticed that this new deck the bass sucked.. itd max the **** outta my 6x9s... wouldnt pound half as hard as my jvc deck... i imagine its just the deck itself..
lots fo friends said how the old jvc sounded much better with my subs

so i figured.. what the hell.. the pioneer doesnt even play my mp3s reliably.. and it sounds like poop..
so i put my old deck in

well.. to my surprise it sucks at reading cds now too.. it was sitting for about 2 weeks in my house in its box..
i bought a lens cleaner.. i thought it worked.. but i think i was just lucky to get some cdrs playing.. basically it tells me to eject the cd.. almost like u put a cd upside down...

i figured somehow it might be wiring.. so i rewired it and soldered the gnd/12v and memory lines so they got a good connection....
to my avail.. its the same

now tonight it didnt even wanna read a retail cd.. it eventually did.. but this deck usually has the cd playing even before the screen says its playing...

i know for a fact the lens isnt dirty

so is it possible the deck is fubared? or the wiring is bad? maybe it aint getting a good 12v... or maybe a fuse is blown that might effect it?

hopefully someone here knows..

thanx

Can't be a fuse. Use a volt meter and check the ground, as well as the red and yellow wire. More importantly, the red wire.

Sounds like the deck is fuxed. Time for a new Deck. And, the 460 is a badass deck for the price, check your crossover, and your bass settings. The JVC had a "loud" setting the pioneer does not have.

Default

well
installed the pioneer deck again
seems to be working nice

i left all the settings default and it sounds good with my subs (better then before)

i think it might be cause i was splicing the wires

the wires had double splices from my previous install (didnt feel like removing the old plugs so i just cut em.. easier to follow the colors (new harness's seem to use the same color codes on decks...)

so i removed the old plugs.. put em on the new harness.. so now theres just 1 connection not 2.. hopefully thisll get me lower resistance... i didnt think of it much before but as a satelite guru... when u cut a cable, and connect it again whether with a connector, its never the same as before.. u lose about %5 of the signal

so hopefully this deck is better at reading some of my cdrs now
