Check out rockfords site for box recommendations. That would be your best bet. Generally if you are going to build a box, take the time and build a nice ported box. I know many people say sealed sounds better, but WTFE. Ported sounds perfectly nice for what most people will use it for. If you are getting **** with competition or you are an audiophile then that might come into play. If you don't fall into one of those categories and you are gonna take time out for schedule to build a box, build one that will give you the most output and still sound good. Ported generally will give you about 3db more than sealed, which in theory is about the same gain you would get from adding another sub if you were to used sealed boxes. So my recommendation would be to build a box off of rockfords specs for a ported box.

Also, when building the box, take into cosideration that subwoofers have mass and they take volume out of your box. So, when calculating the cu.in's keep in mind the volume of the sub and add it to it.
