Default Porting My Sub Box

I have a Rockford Fosgate RFR 1410 10" sub and I am going to build a ported box for it. The page I found for the box says it needs one cubic foot of air...and then it says to port the box with a 3" x 13.5" port...I have two questions:

1. If the box is about 15x14x14 is it ok to have the port like a 1/2" from a bos wall?

2. Where exactly in the box should I put the port?

Here is a link to my speaker:

I am going to build the box tomorrow/today so any help would be appreciated.

Default Re: Porting My Sub Box (schwinn)

you typically want to put the ports on the same surface as the woffer and box size usually is volume PLUS the port, hope this helps
