Default Off center wheels

Just bought a 90 si hatch. Guy I bought it from told me it was in a accident where it hit a curb head on going about 25-30 mph. He said that the front rims bent up pretty good and had to be thrown out. Was looking closely today and notice the front wheels are somewhat pushed back. Here is a little drawing I made up, it gets the point across. Funny thing is that the spacing is exactly the same on both sides. (Left and right, would think one side would be pushed back farther than the other) I looked at a 89 hatch today and wheel was mostly centered with even space between the fender on both sides of the wheel.

I briefly looked and cannot find anything bent or warped. Am I right in thinking something is wrong? Any ideas on where to look?

Other issues that could be related. Back tires wear on the inside first, rear hum while driving. Took off the rear hubs today and bearings look fine. Hum stops when brakes are applied and slowing down.

thanks for any ideas, especially for the front wheel part.

No, title is fine. I just find it strange that they are the same distance on both sides. Gonna take it into honda and see what they say. He told me the rims took the damage and no other accidents beside that one. So I guess I will just have to wait and see.

thanks

My car is like that on the driver's side. I've actually seen quite a few CRX's with one wheel pushed back farther. Not sure if they're from accidents or what, but I've always been curious about that.

that is totally the best drawing Ive ever seen.... and im not trying to be a dick. really it gets the point across and you didn't have to waste time taking a pic and hosting it, or drawing out some elaborate thing....

and a to the new guy =D

also. if they are pushed back on both sides like that it could be that he had an alignment done and the caster was set wrong.

or look at the front cross members and the radius rods coming off of it running to the LCA.

How is the caster adjusted ? As far as I knew it was not.

that would be either the radius rod, whichhapped to my earlier ef when i ran it into a curb, or the lower control arm is bent, thats about what happenedtomine and those 2 things fixed it

Well as far as I know caster is not adjustable, so if that is true something has to be bent.

Only question is why would they both be equal distance? When the car hit, the right wheel hit first so that took most of the impact. Would think right side would be farther back. Can't wait to take it in and see what they say. Steering doesnt feel right and back tires wear on inside so something is definitely screwed up.

Just hoping this can be fixed 100% since I really want to put a b16 in this. Hopefully two lca's, two radius rods, alignment is all that is needed. Probably expensive for those parts though.

thanks again
