---HOW CAN U TELL WHEN V-TEC KICKS IN?---
I have a 89 hf with a 93 SOHC V-tec D16Z6 in it but how can you tell when V-tec kicks in does it feel like it has a small turbo when it kicks in or what??
Also will D16A6 piston rods and pistons work in my D16Z6????

i do not hear it on my z6 but right at 4000 rpm i'm thrown to the back seat. seriously, as stated the car should still feel strong at 5k.

damn never had that feeling of being put back in my seat. But you can here it kick in. It makes a little noise.

Normally I lose my grip on the steering wheel and if my hane is on the shifter I'll accidentally slam it in reverse (not good on trans) then my seat will break (i go through more seats that way)
Sohc D Series VTEC engines only have VTEC on the intake valves. That's why you don't hear the distinctive sound at the VTEC crossover. If you have an intake it may help you hear when VTEC engages, but otherwise it's not really noticeable.

yes excatly, and when vtec turns off you will hear the blow off valve
if you want more performance upgrade your vtec wastegate
