Default A little tuning problem... Hondata USB->Serial

Hondata recommends a Keyspan USB->Serial connector to properly tune a motor via laptop. Well, I cannot find these specific ones anywhere by tomorrow. However, I found a brand at best buy that somewhat works... but it will crash Rom Editor from time to time. I have yet to even hook up the emulator.

Mase told me that he ran into this problem as well so he ran the laptop>s200 with the serial and used the USB->serial for the romulator. Unfortunately I do not have serial ports on my laptop, only 2 USB's. The USB ports being used are Com 3 and Com 5. Has anyone ran into this, if so what did you do?

Did you check CompUSA?

Does the USB-Serial that you bought have a utility to change the ports? Try that.
My Ha=ondata was always very picky when it wanted to connect. I hate that.

I know a lot of AEM users have trouble with the cables. From what I've gathered, it has to do with the quality of the drivers that are written in reagards to the timing of the signals. I guess 9/10 USB->serial adapter cable drivers are shitty... I've read of people actually frying their AEM EMS dues to using a bad cable.

Here's your 100% safe solution: http://forum.aempower.com/bbs/...+card

I guess it's doing a memory dump. He's trying to tune my car. It's fine for a few minutes, then it blue screens and restarts. Is there no hope?

We've got two Iogear ones we got from bestbuy [the only kind they had] and one manhattan one. The manhattan one blows, and the iogears work for a few minutes then crash.
