its got the 1.6 vetc whats the best brand of oil

 

i have the same car and i use castrol full synthetic. works great and last longer than regular oil. brands dont really matter just make sure use full synthetic.

 

One Word: AMSOIL.

If the motor has not been broken in: Valvoline Racing 20-50 (Regular not Synthetic) Should say VR-1 on it.

If the motor has been broken in but not built for racing:
Mobile 1 Full Synthetic

If the motor has been broken in and is built for NA or Turbo:
AMSOIL
RedLine

Keep in mind that if the motor has not been fullly built for racing, it probably won't matter which synthetic you choose. Mobile 1 goes for about $4 a bottle, the others probably double or triple that (Obviously I do not buy the others).

Amsoil, Royal Purple, Moble 1 are my favs. However dino Pennzoil will probably be just as good and run you $18 a change vs $40.

 

I used to use Mobil 1 synthetic and change my oil every 3,000. I got tired of paying ~$30 for every oil change. Now I just use Castrol GTX and change it every 2,500. It works fine, can't even tell a difference.

I think Mobil 1 syn is a waste of money unless your changing you oil every 6,000+ miles.

My thoughts exactly.

I change my oil every 3500 miles with Castrol GTX 10W-30. Half the price of synthetic, and doesn't burn off as easily either.

Synthetic is a total waste of money if you're changing oil every 3500 miles or sooner on an NA engine with stock internals.

If anyone wants proof, my CRX has 235,000 miles of it right here . . .

 

quaker state. it doesnt get as dark as fast so others for me @ 3000.
