inline fuel pump question

Default inline fuel pump question

my stock fuel pump is toast. would it be ok to just put an inline pump in?

Depends on the pump, mounting location, mounting hardware... etc.

Friend has one on his 93 Civic, but you only hear it when the pump primes. It's notably loud from outside the car. The exaust is SO loud you can't hear it while driving. T4 Turbo + open exhaust = "was that a plane that just flew by?"

Dad had one on old Dodge truck. Put lots of rubber padding between it and the mounting point on the frame rail and still heard it vibrating at low RPM and idle. Truck was noisey at regular driving speeds so it's was tolerable, but damn - not nice to get stuck in traffic and hear it buzzing away.
