Default maintenance required light on

just a quick question, but i just realized that my maintenance required light on my dash comes on and blinks on and off for about 15 seconds when i start the car. and then it shuts off and the car runs fine with no problems. is this normal or have i just never noticed it?? or should i take it to the honda dealer and get them to run a check on it??

Put your key in, turn it once. Hold down the trip button and then turn the key 1 more time. Hold it down until the light goes out.

The light is put in there by honda so the owner gets reminded to get maintenance done. There is nothing wrong with your car or anything.

hey that thing worked.. it doesn't come up anymore... well i checked my manual and it said nothing about maintenance other then an oil change that i've already done at 4500 miles.... should i just go ahead and do another oil change since the light came on??

nope, no need to. That's an idiot light, just comes on every few thousand miles, it's the same deal on other hondas, light comes up in the family odyssey and friend's accord too. Just reset it whenever it comes on as described above

Is there anything you REALLY need to do at 15k miles except an Oil change? S2k wasnt tracked or autoxd.

if you have the helms, it's pretty straight foward. Check/clean air filter at 15k too. Inspect brake pads, fluid, rotor, etc etc etc.
