Default maint. req. light blinking. 03 LX 4dr

after turning the motor on, the maintenance required light flashes a few times and then shuts off.

Haven't had time to look into it, but it started doing it recently.

just wanted to get a quick response from here.

Thanks

You have to do it before the car starts, otherwise it won't matter, I forget the combination, but what YeuMaiMai said makes sense.

not to offend u, but like i said, i've already tried that before.

it doesn't look like its just a maintenance required light for an oil change.

I'm experiencing the same thing. The dealer says it's for brake/steering/coolant fluid service. Each cost app $200. I'm debating whether it's necessary. The light starts with blinking...then later on...after some miles...can't remember exactly how many miles...at the next stage the light will stay on all the time.

I'd be checking with my local trusted mechanic before it's too late.

ONE MORE TIME. Hold the odometer button down (key in off position) with your left hand, continue to hold the button down while you turn the key on (no need to start it) hold the button down til the light goes out. My car has 50k miles, so I've done this a number of times. It works if you do it right. Your owner's manual should also have the directions.
