Default Water Pump questions.

I've read Poison's DIY how to here, https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=649277. A friend of mine has a 95 Honda Civic LX, and the water pump needs to be replaced. She had the timing belt replaced 20k miles ago, so that's not necessary and the accessory belt is also new. My question is, if I only need to replace the water pump, what steps in that writeup can I skip over? I don't have much experience with D-series motors, so any help you guys can offer would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
