Default DEL Sol Fog light and Speedo Fascia.

I've got 2 Del Sol's coming in from Japan next month. I need to change the speedo fascia and fit a rear fog light before I can get them MOTed.

Can anyone tell me the best/easiest way of getting the clocks out for the fascia change and what colour wire the side light circuit is.
Fog lights in the UK have to be illuminated to show you when the light is on - if anyone could give me pointers to a company who sell compatible switches that would be great too!!!

Many thanks!

Rob.

For the rear foglight all you would really need to do is wire the power wire from the light to the power of the foglight switch. Not exactly sure what you're talking about with the speedo fascia.

Jap cars show the speed in KMH here in the UK they must show the speed in MPH so you buy a plastic overlay / fascia which sits ontop of the original and under the needle but shows mph.

Cheers,

Rob.

get a USDM cluster off ebay and swap it into your Sol... should be a direct fit. as for the fog light illumination switch, you can just run a 12V LED from the wire to indicate when it's turned on, though I think the OEM fog switch illuminates right from the factory.

No, in the UK and the rest of Europe they have a light that is next to the license plate that turns on when your foglights are on....I just found this out yesterday myself lol. Hold on and I'll post a pic.

Edit: here

if it turns on with foglights, then the foglights switch should already light up when the foglights are on, does the fog light switch currently illuminate when the aux lights are on?

then the rear should already be tied into that switch right?

The rear fog light is required to have a seperate illuminated switch, and can't simply be controlled with the front fog light switch.

Hi - thanks for the replies....

In the UK all cars must have a rear fog light fitted. When switched on, there has to be a visual indication that the light is on (illuminated switch is ideal).
The main thing about the fog light is that it can only be switched on if you already have your sidelights / main lights on (normally indicated by an illuminated dash).

Sorry if I'm confusing people with terminology.

Cheers,

Rob.

I don't know how the JDM's are done, but usdm fogs are supposed to be that way (minus the illuminated switch) -- so if it's like ours it should be cool....
