I think the lock tab (the word LOCK is engraved on it) is broken. It can move all the way back and you can see the red sticker on there easily. Can someone diagnose the possible problem?

your right, it probably is broken. Take it off and see if any parts of the plastic are cracked, and if everything is connected.

 

The plastic fastener that holds the rod to the lock tab was broken. I think it was broken because the rod could not move back and forth when I lock the door. Can someone tell me if the rod is directly connected to the motor? If so, if I replace the motor would that resolve the problem?

 

Do the power locks still operate normally?
